Vidzemē, gar Igaunijas robežu ir izveidots tūrisma un atpūtas maršruts “Ziemeļu stīga”, kurā sākotnēji tika ietverti pieci tūrisma objekti, Valkā, Apē un Burtniekos, kur viesiem ir iespēja atpūsties un izmēģināt dažādas aktivitātes, kā arī izzināt dzīvi laukos. Papildus izstrādātajam maršrutam 20 km radiusā apzinātas un atzīmētas vietas, kuras vērts apmeklēt vai apskatīt, piemēram, viesu nami, saimniecības u. c.
